Developing Horses & Riders on Their Individual Journey

while setting expectations

I take safety and success seriously. That is why I am willing to sacrifice quantity for quality. What I am saying is MLF is NOT a lesson barn. So "paying it forward" to me means sharing my knowledge with students that are making a commitment on the journey to their own success.

Working With Trainers

McKenzie takes great pride in quality horsemanship. She grew up as a member of the United States Pony Club in New England, which sparked her interest in eventing. In an ever-evolving effort to build a versatile foundation, rather than specializing in one particular equestrian sport, she explored training in all the equestrian disciplines.

As a young athlete and unable to afford a made horse, McKenzie worked with trainers in all disciplines and trained her own prospects. The process and journey of molding young, green horses was gratifying and became her passion.  Mckenzie's mother purchased their first project. Gillian was a 4yo just backed pony who provided hourse of trials and tribulations which taught Mckenzie the art of Scrappy riding. However with that came success in lower levels.

The transition from a wily 14.1 H pony to a gangly 16.3 H ex-racehorse led to much knowledge and fruition. The partnership of her and her thoroughbred, Judging Dreams established her craft, instilled confidence and confirmed her skill for leading horses through the upper levels. Since Judge, she has introduced many OTTB'ss to new successfull careers. Spending much time in realizing a horse's own expertise and understanding there is no concrete formula. She seeks to recognize horses' preferences and develops them based upon the dicipline for which they have the most aptitude.

In July of 2014, Mckenzie set out for Lexington, KY to take a chance on a young OTTB that she had found online. In July of 2014, Mckenzie set out for Lexington, KY to take a chance on a young OTTB that she had found online. Regiment seemed to be a promising project and has proven himself as an exceptional sport horse. McKenzie took a 5yo Regiment to his first event, and by age 9, the team successfully navigated their way around the CCI4* L level at Fair Hill Inernational.

Through this experience with Regiment, McKenzie trail blazed a wholesome career training young horses and competing her developing line-up. The thrill of FEI competition has evoked desire to continue to forge more young horses into upper-level competitors. Currently, McKenzie is growing a reputable training, selling, an boarding business out of established Morning Line Farm.
